Grammar mistake

Making basic grammar mistakes is like wearing shorts to attend a formal. It can't be tolerated, and it's even objectionable. Other people see and sneer it inwardly but never tell. So the person wearing "the shorts" is fearless with ignorance and repeats the mistakes again and again. When a person who can't bear it points out it with good will, the shorts-wearer feels extreme shame. So the wise thing is to learn how to dress decently as soon as possible before it becomes a huge joke. Thanks to the sincere person who makes the shorts-wearer aware of her mistakes. It causes shame but is definitely appreciated.
